Auditors often flag open industrial fans as finger-access hazards. Use this checklist to get plant fans audit-ready with RC Fan Safety Net Cover.
1. Inventory every running fan
Walk each bay and log brand, sweep size, location, and whether a cover is fitted. Include wall and pedestal fans near aisles.
2. Inspect existing guards
Replace torn mesh, missing Velcro, or covers that leave edge gaps. Damaged covers give a false sense of safety.
3. Spec the right product
Require virgin HDPE, flame-retardant and UV-stabilised mesh, 12 mm hexagonal openings, ~1.50 mm thickness, and industrial Velcro — not fabric dust covers.
4. Train for install and LOTO
Show teams how to fit covers and remind them that servicing still needs lockout-tagout. Covers protect during operation; isolation protects during repair.
5. Keep size-wise spares
Store at least one spare cover per common sweep so damaged units are replaced the same shift.
6. Keep purchase evidence
Save quotes, invoices, and photos of fitted covers for the audit file. That documentation speeds closure of findings.
